JOY TO JAIL”

“I WAS IN PRISON AND YOU CAME UNTO ME” (MATHEW 25; 36)

INTRODUCTION:

                        Tehillim school of church music exist to promote biblical position for the use of music in Worship,  Descipleship and Evangelism. One of our major objective is to reach the un-reached through music to fulfill the Great Commision of our Lord Jesus Christ.

BACKGROUND:

In August 2008 when TSCM tried to contact the authorities of central jail youth section to start music classes for Christian children but it was refused. After continues prayers God opened the doors of jail and Superintendent of Prisons contacted us that we can start classes for not only children but also for adults as well.  

In the history of Pakistan first time ever this great work been started with the initiative of TSCM and God opened the doors of prisons to reach these prisoners.

PRISONS INFORMATION:
 
There are total 96 prisons in province Sind of Pakistan and three major jails are in Karachi city. Two sections one for children (Age 10-18) and adults are in city which called Central Jail Karachi and third is Landhi Jail. Nearly 1000 children in youth section and 6500 prisoners are in adult section of Central jail.

JOY TO JAIL:

TSCM started music classes twice a week for two two hours in both sections, TSCM done this activity with 36 students in children section and 30 in adult section including 10 Nigerians and our numbers are growing in both sections. We are planning to start classes in Landhi jail and then to whole province also.

 OUR MISSION:

Bring the Gospel of Jesus Christ to prisoners, as God transform hearts and lives, teach prisoners how to live in a community using music as a mean to reach the un-reached souls in prisons.

Prayer Request: 

With our limited resources and volunteer teaching staff TSCM has only one key-board for children and adults. We challenge you to pray for the urgent need of music instruments, stationary, chairs and small van to transport our staff and stuff.
